I fail to understand what the provider(s) of these data is (are) trying to "prove" or Not to prove by marshalling these presumed facts about the demographic and economic aspects of Muslim-majority countries compared to other countries, such as Japan, Germany, European countries, and so forth. There is no doubt that the contemporary Muslim world is facing many profound economic, political, technological, and even "civilizational" challenges. However, it will be foolish to use these data to "prove" that since many Muslim-majority countries are either underdeveloped or developing countries, then the religion of Islam itself must be "responsible" for such sad state of affairs. The fact of the matter is that many Muslim-majority countries are underdeveloped INSPITE of Islam, NOT because of Islam. There is absolutely nothing inherently against development/progress in Islam, but there are numerous structural, political, social, educational, and historical factors that need to be dealt with effectively and systematically in order for the Muslim world to regain the place that it deserves on the world stage. for this reason, such use, or rather misuse, of "statistical" sophistry to undermine an entire faith or an entire civilization is nothing more than a manifestation of intellectual bankruptcy and downright stupidity.
