My name is Shamsul Huq Nannu . I'm the prosecution witness no.11 in the case chief prosecutor vs Matiur Rahman Nizami.In 1971 during independent war of Bangladesh my family members and myself were the victims of atrocious crimes committed by the accused Matiur Rahman Nizami and along with Pakistani occupation Army .
After this long Forty two years the accused brought under trial for community serious crimes against humanity . for which out of my conscious as a freedom fighter I came to volunteerly depose as prosecution witness . The facts are that which eye witnessed by myself .
In this case Toby Cadman from the very beginning twisting and lieing the facts of involvement of accused in the serious crimes against humanity committed during 1971 liberation war of Bangladesh. Such defamatory acts of Toby Cadman posses threat to me and my family life and suffering , serious insecurity and defamation . Toby Cadman has published and broadcasted misleading , untrue , false news and videos in You tube impersonated my picture with someone else which amounts me to an illegal act done by Toby Cadman and thus I demand legal proceedings nationally and internationally.
This is the statement of Shamsul Huq Nannnu, a witness in the war crimes case against Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami, has protested a report carried by The Telegraph, a British daily, and a statement by Toby Cadman, a British lawyer cum lobbyist for the Jamaat.
He also denounced a video footage in the YouTube, allegedly showing him giving a statement on how he was forced by the government with threats and financial inducements to give evidence in the case.
Speaking at a press briefing held at the prosecutor’s office of the International Crimes Tribunal, Nannu, said: “The interview on YouTube was done with imposter pretending to be me. It is totally forged and false. A different person in my disguise gave the false statement in the interview, saying, I had given deposition under the government’s pressure and after taking various advantages.
“I gave the testimony to the court willingly about Nizami’s brutality. None has forced me in this regard. However, after the testimony, my family and I are at risk of attack by the Jamaat-Shibir activists. They have been issuing threats in different ways,” Nannu said.
At the briefing, Nannu condemned the Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/bangladesh/10315433/Islamist-leader-sentenced-to-death-in-Bangladesh.html )for using Toby Cadman’s “false” statement as well as for not verifying it thoroughly before publishing the article. He condemned Cadman as well for siding with lies. He Urges his appeal to world humanity to save him as he is in risk to be killed by the supporters of accused .Nannu said he had analysed both Telegraph’s report and video footage in the YouTube in depth. “The man, who has been filmed in the interview is not me. I have a moustache long time and long curly hairs from my childhood, which that fake Nannu does not have. There are much dissimilarity between me and that person. That person is not even known to me.”
Hailing from village Chhoto Pathail Hat in Nagdamra union under Sathiya upazila in Pabna, Nannu is a lawyer at the Supreme Court by profession. Cadman in his interview with the Telegraph mentioned that the trials of his client Abdul Quader Mollah and others accused of war crimes had been politically-motivated.Citing the video footage, Cadman claimed that the person was forced to give deposition and take financial facilities.
In the month of November 2012 , in the Hague the conference of all state Parties convent in the world forum where a debate session was conducted by international humanitarian body where amongst other prosecutor AKM SAIFUL ISLAM of International Crimes Tribunals and Toby Cadman lobbyist of Jamaat e Islami Bangladesh were present.
In the debate session at one point Toby Cadman claimed he never visited Bangladesh , whereas he visited Bangladesh 5 times in total , we have evidence clamed Saiful Islam opposing Toby .And observers and other legal experts present in that debate session flooded him with punch of evidences , comments, which Toby failed to prove his stand. And Times proved him as a lier . Saiful repeated to this reporter . In the recent attempts made by Toby is a mela fides , false and twisting in nature .
