Sonia Gandhi is World’s Sixth Most Powerful Woman


Forbes magazine’s annual list of World’s Most Powerful Women is out and India’s UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has been ranked sixth. The list which comprises politicians, businesswomen and media personalities has ranked German Chancellor Angela Merkel as the most powerful woman in the world followed by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Apart from Sonia Gandhi, other Indian women to feature On the list are CEO & MD of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar (59th), Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo Indra Nooyi (12th) and Founder, Chairperson of Biocon Ltd. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (80th). The Forbes list also features some interesting women and popular faces in the media – musicians Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Lady Gaga and Shakira as well as Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie.
